Animal Daycare Uses
BACKGROUND – ARTICLE 46
Ø Article 46 would add the
definition of Animal Day Care to
the Zoning Bylaw and allow it in
Business Districts.
Ø Overnight boarding would not be
allowed.
Ø Animal Daycare is currently
restricted to the Industrial zone,
which is extremely limited.
Ø Animal Daycare businesses
would be allowed:
• by Special Permit in most
Business Districts,
• by right in B4 District, mostly
located near Industrial parcels.
Ø Animal Daycare businesses
would be required to comply
with allstate and local
regulations.

AMENDMENT TEXT
Article 46
Animal day care: Kennel, indoor
recreation and/or training
centers for animals operated
on a daytime-only basis.
Overnight boarding of animals
is prohibited.
