Arlington Town Meeting — Substitute Motion

ARTICLE NO. 23 Dated: April 28, 2026

We, Jennifer Cutraro and Robin Bergman, do hereby submit the following Substitute Motion

under Article 23:

Voted: to amend Title V, Section 2 (a) of Article 16— Tree Protection and Preservation of the

Town Bylaws, by adding the text in bold underline to the definition of Protected Tree:

“Protected Tree” - Any existing healthy tree on private land with a DBH of six (6) inches or

greater, located in the setback area, and any tree with a DBH of ten (10) inches or greater

located anywhere else on the lot, which does not pose an immediate hazard to persons or

property or is not under imminent threat of disease or insect infestation.

Comment: this change standardizes the text added to match the language of the original bylaw.
